What are fae?
I’m n lore fae are considered too bad for heaven and too good for hell, take that as you will they often live in a realm closest to humans, often roaming not only earth itself but the fae realm.
The most seen fae on earth often times are the wild fae, the ones closest to nature and reigned over by Tatiana and Oberon himself. These fae are what I myself would consider the hardest to get along with as they’re often fickle and will do whatever they please depending entirely on something you’ve done. For example, you haven’t watered your houseplant on time? The plant could easily express its thirst and the wild fae that was warming up to you would likely trip you until you water it.
Their thought about you can change at the drop of a hat, entirely on something you have or haven’t done mainly when it comes to the earth.
They care less about living creatures roaming around like rabbits or deer then they do about the plant life around, especially since most of not all of them are meat eaters.
The other two courts are the seelie and the unseelie, they often stick to their own court in the fae realm keeping to themselves.
Unseelie live by the motto “survival of the fittest,” where they have no problem killing another fae just to one up them or using cruelty to climb ranks in their court.
There are a number of courts inside the unseelie and seelie court, some based off of seasons, feelings, thoughts, time of day or even objects.
The seelie on the other hand are based on the motto “honor in bloodline” which means while yes they’re less likely to kill for status it doesn’t make them any less dangerous as they’re more likely to trick you with a slow burn and then strike when they get bored of the game.
The court fae have one high court and several medium courts that then scatter into smaller courts; the high courts keep track of the money management and politics between not only their own courts but courts outside of their reach, meaning they’re less likely to go and make political connections but they’ll watch the other courts do so to judge who and what court might be up to.
Lastly are the Courtless who can either roam free or have a court away from under the high courts thumbs. And while similar to the wild fae they’re a different species entirely, and wild fae are even more chaotic and lawless then the unseelie.
Take heed when working with fae, especially the ones that have yet to be vetted. Keep your words tight and without loopholes, thanks should be buried deep and never uttered, and keep your eyes away from theirs.
