what is a demon?

What is a demon? The easiest explanation is a demon is a spirit that resides in hell, or whatever name it’s given as other religions may have different names for it like; inferno, abyss, purgatory, underworld. These names essentially mean all the same thing.

Demons have been, well demonized, throughout all of history as malicious creatures that wish humans harm for no rhyme or reason. These spirits tend to have darker energy but by no means are they evil, darker energy is just the dark to the light. It’s balance and light energy has just as much potential to be evil as a darker energy.

Now that doesn’t mean that to humans, demon culture isn’t foreign, and to humans their need for fear to feed off of (not all demons feed off of fear mind you) isn’t always in the way that it’s perceived in the media. We like to think of it as a spirit that’s pushing you down the stairs or scratching you to milk you for fear, those are the “demons” in media when in reality they don’t really need to do that. Humans fear things in every day life, a wasp falls on your shoulder? The fear you feel is enough. 

Unfortunately it’s normally the Christian or catholic religion that often makes you feel as if you’re not safe from malicious spirits unless you have 30 crosses in your home, or a priest that comes to bless the house every once in a blue moon. 

But hear me out, you don’t need help from a priests to get rid of a demon and often times it won’t even work! Not in the way you think, after all demons have been breeding for centuries so the boundaries and crosses between demons of each religion is basically nothing. 

The reason that a priest can work and help is due to your own belief that your home is safe and protected afterwards, so in reality he’s just a comfort. 

The line between what demons are from what religion is often blurred enough where it doesn’t really matter anymore and they’re not affected by religious matters.
